Energy North – Scaling Green Ammonia Globally

Platform business developing green ammonia and other hydrogen derivative projects across Asia-Pacific

About the Client

Energy North is an independent Australian green ammonia developer. It is building its flagship, large-scale green ammonia production facility in Northern Australia, supplying 4.2 Mtpa of green ammonia to global off-takers under long-term contracts.

Decarbonising Global Energy with Green Ammonia

Green ammonia is a critical clean energy solution, offering one of the safest and most efficient methods for storing and transporting renewable energy from solar, wind, and hydro sources. It decarbonises the global energy sector, the largest contributor to  global carbon emissions, as well as the existing grey ammonia market – the world’s second most-produced chemical commodity.

Deal Structuring

Afrigulf is scaling Energy North’s expertise in green ammonia developed through its pioneering project in Australia to a global stage. By leveraging its network of international strategic and financial investors, Afrigulf is deploying Energy North’s solutions through an international platform of projects across Asia-Pacific in partnerships with local green energy developers. Beyond green ammonia, the platform will produce other green hydrogen derivatives such as urea and sustainable aviation fuel to advance decarbonisation across industries, targeting European off-takers through a trading hub established in the UAE.
